2010 U.S. National Champion Rachael Flatt has just donated four of her skating dresses to be sold on MySkatingMall.com. The proceeds from the sale of each dress will be given to the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund. The Fund has been providing training and academic grants for competitive figure skaters since 1961.
“The Memorial Fund has been amazingly supportive throughout my skating career-something of which I am incredibly appreciative. I felt that donating my dresses and having the proceeds go back to the Memorial Fund was a simple way to give back to an organization that has given me so much over many years!,” explained Rachael.
Wow! That’s the way all athletes should be, don’t you agree? Rachael’s donated dresses include her 2008 “Moon River” Short Program dress that she wore at the Cup of Russia Grand Prix Event as well as many exhibitions. Three of her practice dresses were also included, all of which are stylish enough to be competition dresses themselves! You can check them out and purchase them through this link: Rachael’s Skating Dresses You could also type “Rachael Flatt” into the search box near the top of the page at MySkatingMall.com if the link is not working.
Rachael is the second Team USA member who has donated items to raise money for the U.S. Figure Skating Memorial Fund. Several of Adam Rippon’s outfits are also available through this link: Adam’s Outfits
“So many Team USA athletes have directly benefited from U.S. Figure Skating’s Memorial Fund,” said Julie Schmitz, Special Projects Manager for U.S. Figure Skating. “Whether it is wearing a RISE t-shirt at the rink, selling costumes on MySkatingMall.com with proceeds going to the Memorial Fund, or using their social media platforms to promote the event, our Team USA athletes have embraced the promotion of RISE with the same passion they put into their skating on a daily basis.”
Along with Team USA members, MySkatingMall.com is still pursuing its goal of raising at least $1,000 for the Memorial Fund by the release of the film RISE in February. So far, we are at about $250. Take a look at these great outfits through the links above, get amazing skating items for a fraction of what they cost new, and support a great charity!
P.S. We made a mistake!
